Summary
FaceMaxx keeps most information on your device. When you run facial analysis, image data is sent to Qwen to generate results. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
What stays on your device
The app stores your name, challenge and routine progress, streak information, scan history metadata, and scan results using local storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app or using clear/delete options in Settings removes that local data.
Camera & photo library
We access the camera or library only so you can take a face photo to analyze. You control when that happens through the system permission prompts.
Face data
What we collect: two photos of your face (front and side) per scan session.
Purpose: photos are transmitted to Qwen's API in real time to generate your facial metrics and score.
Not stored on our servers. Your facial images are sent to Qwen for analysis and immediately discarded by us. We do not store facial images on our servers at any point.
Local storage: your scan photo and results are saved on your device's local file system so you can review past scans. They are never uploaded to our servers. You can delete them at any time from the Settings screen in the app.
Third-party sharing: your facial images are shared solely with Qwen for the purpose of analysis. No other third party receives them.
Qwen's retention: Qwen does not use API inputs to train its models. See Qwen's data usage policies at qwencloud.com.
No indefinite storage: face data is not stored indefinitely by us or, to our knowledge, by Qwen beyond their stated retention period.
User control: you can delete locally stored scan results at any time from the Settings screen in the app.
Qwen
To produce facial analysis scores and related text, the app sends your selected image and prompts to Qwen. Qwen processes that content under its own policies at qwencloud.com. Qwen does not use API inputs to train its models.
Analytics
We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve app performance. This data is not used to sell your contact information.
Purchases (RevenueCat)
Subscriptions are validated through Apple and/or Google using RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts and limited device information to verify entitlements. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Marketing analytics & attribution (AppsFlyer)
We use AppsFlyer to measure the effectiveness of our marketing and to understand how users find our app.
What is collected: device identifiers (IDFA if you allow tracking, IDFV, AppsFlyer device ID), device type and OS version, install and session timestamps, and in-app events related to app usage. On iOS 14.5+, IDFA is only collected if you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Purpose: to attribute installs to marketing campaigns, measure ad performance, and improve our marketing efforts. This helps us understand which channels bring users to the app so we can invest in what works.
SKAdNetwork: on iOS, Apple's SKAdNetwork sends anonymous attribution postbacks to AppsFlyer to measure campaign performance without personal identifiers. This works even if you decline tracking through the ATT prompt.
Data sharing: AppsFlyer may share aggregated or hashed data with advertising partners (such as Meta, TikTok, Google Ads) to attribute installs and measure campaign performance.
Your control: you can opt out of IDFA tracking at any time by going to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and toggling off tracking for FaceMaxx. You can also reset your device advertising identifier from the same iOS settings.
Data retention & policy: AppsFlyer retains data according to its own policies. See appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy for full details.
