Privacy Policy

We believe privacy is a right. Here's exactly what data FaceMaxx collects, uses, and protects.

Last updated: May 16, 2026

Summary

FaceMaxx keeps most information on your device. When you run facial analysis, image data is sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o) to generate results. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

What stays on your device

The app stores your name, challenge and routine progress, streak information, scan history metadata, and scan results using local storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app or using clear/delete options in Settings removes that local data.

Camera & photo library

We access the camera or library only so you can take a face photo to analyze. You control when that happens through the system permission prompts.

Face data

What we collect: two photos of your face (front and side) per scan session.

Purpose: photos are transmitted to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o model) in real time to generate your facial metrics and score.

Not stored on our servers. Your facial images are sent to OpenAI for analysis and immediately discarded by us. We do not store facial images on our servers at any point.

Local storage: your scan photo and results are saved on your device's local file system so you can review past scans. They are never uploaded to our servers. You can delete them at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

Third-party sharing: your facial images are shared solely with OpenAI for the purpose of analysis. No other third party receives them.

OpenAI's retention: OpenAI does not use API inputs to train its models. According to OpenAI's published API data policies, inputs may be retained for up to 30 days for safety monitoring and then deleted. See openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

No indefinite storage: face data is not stored indefinitely by us or, to our knowledge, by OpenAI beyond the period stated above.

User control: you can delete locally stored scan results at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

OpenAI

To produce facial analysis scores and related text, the app sends your selected image and prompts to OpenAI. OpenAI processes that content under its own policies at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train its models.

Analytics

We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve app performance. This data is not used to sell your contact information.

Purchases (RevenueCat)

Subscriptions are validated through Apple and/or Google using RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts and limited device information to verify entitlements. See revenuecat.com/privacy.

Children

FaceMaxx is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights & choices

You may revoke camera/photos permissions in device settings, delete scans or reset progress in the app, or uninstall to remove locally stored data. For deletion requests regarding third-party processors, contact us at facemaxx.app@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when our practices change and show the updated version in the app.
